INTRODUCING: ELLIOT VAN EMDEN

FROM BBC1's THE APPRENTICE 2017

London born, Elliot Van Emden took on this year’s BBC1’s The Apprentice, in the hope to partner with billionaire business mogul Lord Alan Sugar, who’s worth £1.4bn. Elliot is now on the road to take his break-through educational pitch idea to the next level. His new business deals with education inequality in the UK and is keen to tackle issues surrounding this and make a difference in the world.

The 32-year-old savvy entrepreneur is the commercial director of Parliament Street, a political think tank which prepares reports that influence the policy of the government. Made In Chelsea and recently announced I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here star Georgia Toffolo works with Elliot at Parliament Street as their Events Manager. Elliot also owns a legal company specialising in landlord and tenant law. His firm offers a one stop shop to landlords who have difficulties with their tenants. His firm assists hundreds of landlords every year.

Elliot is known as ‘Tory Boy’ from working in the Office of David Cameron before he became Prime Minister- which allowed him to work in the Houses of Parliament and Conservative Central office. Elliot was also a finalist for BBC’s Question Time Young Panellist of The Year.

We grabbed a quick word with Entrepreneur Elliot Van Emden to catch up on his journey through 'The Apprentice', are him and Lord Sugar 'Best Pals' and his New Years resolutions. Here's what he had to say...

How was 'The Apprentice' and was it all what you had expected?
I absolutely loved the Apprentice - it was such a unique experience and one I will always cherish. The one thing that will always grate me though is had i had a different game plan - I’m so sure I could have gone all the way. Maybe I’ll apply again next year?!

What did you learn from Lord Sugar? Have you and the 'Executioner' stayed in contact as best buds after the show?
I learnt from Lord Sugar that you shouldn’t sit back in a process like the apprentice and allow other people to fall on their sword - you will get found out! Many of us have stayed in contact after the show - and Lord Sugar is always there for advice if you need it.

Now that you're out from 'The Apprentice', what will you do with your business plans?
I am launching my educational business plan that I had for Lord sugar-which is delivering affordable education through an online group tutoring platform to people that currently cannot afford private tuition. It is something I am deeply passionate about and really looking forward to launching. I have already received substantial investment into this project - and plan to launch it within the next six months.

Christmas is less than a week away. What have you got planned this Christmas?
I’m literally going to relax-see friends and family and have the odd drink or two! A friend of mine has gone to Disneyland Paris the last three days-that has given me the idea to make an impromptu trip in the next few days-Christmas is for having fun! I wish all your readers a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Lastly, what are your New Years resolutions for 2018?
Well on the politics path I’m standing as a candidate in elections in May-so that’s going to be taking up quite a lot of my weekends in the months ahead!
